VIB Grand Challenges Projects Heartbeat Monitoring

Valeria Imperato is one of the orchestrators at VIB Grand Challenges Program. In her role as Project Portfolio Officer, she not only monitors the diverse projects’ heartbeat but infuses vitality into their objectives, magnifying their societal resonance.

With a PhD from Prof. Jaco Vangronsveld's lab at the University of Hasselt, she unraveled plant-microbe interactions and enhanced environmental remediation strategies. Venturing beyond academia, Valeria embraced the dynamic world of agritech with Aphea.bio. As senior microbiologist, she embarked on a quest to cultivate a more sustainable agriculture. Her contribution? Spearheading the development of ground-breaking biostimulants and biocontrol agents.
