Tim Verdonck

A Machine Learning Approach for Road Cycling Race Performance Prediction

Tim Verdonck is a professor of statistics and data science at the University of Antwerp, where he earned a PhD in mathematics. He does extensive research on data analysis, robust statistics, fraud detection and anomaly detection, and also strongly believes in machine learning for the financial markets.

But for several years, his research group has also been focusing on sports analytics, and more specifically on injury prevention and forecasting results in sports such as cycling and football.
