Comon: Young Innovators on the Move
Young innovators on the move
Coincidentally or not, FTI Gent's themes (health, sports, movement) align perfectly with those of both the Ghent open laboratory Comon and the Youth Book Month 2024. That's why FTI Gent and Comon are joining forces.
With their unbiased minds, children are the best inventors. Therefore, Comon has initiated a challenge for Ghent's primary schools centered around the question: 'How can we make moving through the city more enjoyable?' Kids play the Youth Book Month Game, track their movement habits in a diary and come up with crazy inventions to get more people moving. During an inventors' workshop, they also create mini-versions of their ideas.
On Sunday 17 March, five classes become real VIPs. They will create life-sized versions of their inventions in the inventor's lab at Wintercircus, in collaboration with Belgian comedian Henk Rijckaert and under the guidance of De Creatieve Stem.
Interested in seeing the young inventors at work? You can! Visit The Expo by ArcelorMittal at Wintercircus on Sunday 17 March - a unique walk through both the iconic building and the history of Flanders as a technology hub. The walk will stop by the young inventors' workshop between 10h and 15h. Tickets (€12) can be purchased here.
